Can I come for just the day?
Absolutely! While we would love for you to stay for the whole weekend, day only registrations are available at half the price of the weekend registrations and are good for any one day of the event. Day only attendees can still enjoy whatever meals are being provided that day and participate in any recovery or entertainment related aspects of the program.
Can I bring my partner who is not in A.A.?
You sure can! This event is considered an "open" A.A. event, meaning that anyone may attend.
Can I bring my kids?
Yes, kids are more than welcome to bring your kids with you. Registration for children is half priced for those between the ages of 6 and 13 and free for children 5 years old or younger.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are certainly welcome at the campground, it is required that you clean up after your dog and keep them on a leash at all times while they are at the group camp site. This is not only to protect your dog, but also to protect other attendees and their dogs as well. Failure to adhere to this policy will result in you being asked to remove your dog from the event.
Can I bring my RV?
Yeppers! While most attendees will be setting up tents around the campsite, RVs are also welcome and may be parked in the field during the weekend. The campground asks that all other vehicles be kept in the parking lot.
What happens if it rains?
This event will be held rain or shine. While we would all love to have perfect weather for our camping trip, the reality of the situation is that mother nature sometimes has different plans. We will make every attempt to make the weekend enjoyable regardless of the weather, but you should consider bringing clothing and gear appropriate for whatever the weather may be. This might include cold weather clothes and sleeping bags for sleeping, sunblock, bugspray, rain gear, rain tarps, canopies, or anything else that might make unexpected weather more bearable.
What is the refund policy?
Since the event will be held rain or shine, and since there are substantial costs towards renting a campsite, purchasing firewood, and planning 5 meals for all attendees, we will not be offering refunds for attendees who are no longer able to attend. We hope that you understand that these costs cannot be avoided. Of course, offering your registration for someone else to attend in your place is certainly encouraged if you cannot make it.
How boujee is the campground?
In short... not very. The group camp site is considered "primitive". This means that there is no running water and no electricity at the group camp site. A potable water source is within a short walk of the group camp site. Bathroom options at the campground are limited to pit toilets and porta potties.
How am I going to take a shower?
That is an excellent question! You probably wont. This is a camping trip and we will likely all be pretty dirty and smelly by the end of the weekend. If this doesn't sound like fun to you, you might want to consider finding some other solution to keeping yourself clean, such as bringing baby wipes or soap and a rag.
How am I going to keep my electronic devices charged?
Also a great question! Since there is no electricity at the group camp site, you will likely want to bring rechargeable battery packs to keep you phone charged throughout the weekend is important to you. Of course, we also recommend trying to unplug for a few days and get out of your comfort zone a bit by enjoying to company of others.
Will there be food that I can eat?
We sure hope so! Each year, we try to provide a menu for the weekend that allows for as many dietary restrictions as we can realistically try to provide for. This includes having options for attendees who are vegetarian, lactose intolerant, or gluten free. While hot dogs and hamburgers are a camping staple, we also try to provide a more robust menu experience for our attendees as well as having a "community pantry" of snacks and beverages that anyone can pick from throughout the weekend. If you have dietary needs that are more restrictive than the average person, you may want to consider bringing your own food and cooking surfaces.
